Had to get an MRI for my arm last night – had pain for 3.5 weeks now, and it’s just not getting better.\u00c2\u00a0 All I think about is OW MY ARM HURTS, ARM, ARM, ARM, ARM, ARM. \u00c2\u00a0 I tried to soak it in alcohol this weekend for Jon’s bachelor party, but that didn’t work.\u00c2\u00a0 OK – it did for a while, but now it hurts again.<\/p>\n
I’ve had MRIs before on my rotator cuff, so no big deal, right?\u00c2\u00a0 Not right.\u00c2\u00a0 The guy asks if I’m claustrophobic, and I say no.\u00c2\u00a0 He says the last two were – it was a big mess.\u00c2\u00a0 No problem here, I say.\u00c2\u00a0 I’m a big brave boy.<\/p>\n
Get in the thing, all is cool.\u00c2\u00a0 Then is seems to get smaller.\u00c2\u00a0 And harder to breathe.\u00c2\u00a0 He asks if I’m OK.\u00c2\u00a0 I say I don’t know.\u00c2\u00a0 He takes me out.\u00c2\u00a0 I relax a bit.\u00c2\u00a0 Back in I go.\u00c2\u00a0 Immediate panic.\u00c2\u00a0 What the fuck?\u00c2\u00a0 This has NEVER been the case before.\u00c2\u00a0 I ask what we can do – he says “We can give you drugs.”\u00c2\u00a0 Excellent answer.\u00c2\u00a0 Fork them over, I say.\u00c2\u00a0 He says no, you have to get a prescription from your doctor.\u00c2\u00a0 Jeez.\u00c2\u00a0 Call my doctor, who phones in a prescription for 2mg of Ativan to the pharmacy in the building.\u00c2\u00a0 I go get my one pill (for $6, thank you very much), eat it down, and wait for it to take hold.<\/p>\n
Needless to say, it worked great.\u00c2\u00a0 They could have put me in a coffin and nailed it shut, and I wouldn’t have cared.\u00c2\u00a0 Did the shoulder and the neck in about 40 minutes.\u00c2\u00a0 We’ll see what the deal is.\u00c2\u00a0 Then I’ll research getting over claustrophobia.\u00c2\u00a0 With my luck it will be something you have to have implanted.\u00c2\u00a0 Into your ARM.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
