{"id":207,"date":"2008-09-27T23:01:40","date_gmt":"2008-09-28T06:01:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.kellybakst.com\/?p=207"},"modified":"2008-09-27T23:03:03","modified_gmt":"2008-09-28T06:03:03","slug":"tuning-up-the-golf-game","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.kellybakst.com\/?p=207","title":{"rendered":"Tuning up the golf game"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With a 3 day tournament coming up in a few weeks, figured it was time to get my golf game in order.\u00c2\u00a0 Went over to see Ben at <a title=\"Great club - because I belong there.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.portervalley.com\" target=\"_blank\">Porter Valley<\/a> (no link for Ben, because he doesn&#8217;t have a website &#8211; yet) to see what he thought.<\/p>\n<p>After a bunch of irons on the range, some chipping and putting, he said &#8220;Why aren&#8217;t you a 3 handicap?&#8221;\u00c2\u00a0 I told him I didn&#8217;t know &#8211; could he please tell me?\u00c2\u00a0 His point was that I hit the ball solidly enough to BE a 3 handicap, but that I just apparently didn&#8217;t take it to the course.\u00c2\u00a0 Oddly enough this filled me with confidence.<\/p>\n<p>So I went out today with my buddy Jack (which was just more fun than I can even explain), and shot a 78 &#8211; the first time I broke 80 on my home course.\u00c2\u00a0 8 pars and one double on the back nine, which has always been my problem nine.<\/p>\n<p>The power of positive thinking.\u00c2\u00a0 I&#8217;ll be sure and pass this along to Sydney.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With a 3 day tournament coming up in a few weeks, figured it was time to get my golf game in order.\u00c2\u00a0 Went over to see Ben at Porter Valley (no link for Ben, because he doesn&#8217;t have a website &#8211; yet) to see what he thought.
